  5. Engage with fun and interactive activities: Students will participate in phonics games, flashcard activities, and short stories, all designed to make learning enjoyable.

Methodology

The teaching methodology focuses on interactive and multisensory learning. The approach includes phonics instruction, reading practice, listening activities, and speaking practice, all delivered in a  supportive online classroom environment. The key strategies include:

  1. Phonics-Based Instruction:
    • Sound-letter Connection: Using visuals (flashcards, images) and auditory cues (songs, phonics videos) to help students connect sounds with letters.
    • Blending Practice: Introduce simple consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) words and practice blending sounds together to form words.
  2. Story-Based Learning:
    • Digital Storytime: Use simple, engaging stories with repetitive vocabulary, allowing students to follow along and participate in the reading process.
    • Comprehension Questions: After reading, ask basic comprehension questions to ensure understanding and engage listening skills.
  3. Games and Interactive Activities:
    • Phonics Flashcards: Display flashcards and encourage students to match letters to sounds or pictures to words.
    • Word Building Games: Utilize letter tiles or online word-building platforms to create words from given phonemes.
    • Quizlet or Wordwall Phonics Games: Use game-based platforms to reinforce word recognition and phonetic concepts in a competitive, fun environment.
  4. Speaking and Listening Practice:
    • Modeling and Repetition: Teacher models correct pronunciation and students repeat aloud to practice.
    • Encouragement and Positive Feedback: Provide praise for effort and participation, helping students build confidence in speaking.
